We host long-term interns year-round. Work includes bed preparation, fence building/maintaining, planting/transplanting, weeding, harvesting, irrigation, and occasional help with sales (restaurant deliveries or help at the farmer’s market). There are also learning opportunities with our dairy goats, laying hens and honeybees (seasonal).
We are looking for motivated, open-minded, hardworking individuals to commit to 50+ hours/week of solid work in exchange for furnished housing (heating, cooling, hot water, shower, kitchen, washer/dryer) as well as food staples (rice, beans, oil, spices, etc.), and produce/eggs when available from our farm. Talk to us about options for paid work.
We are able to host 5-7 full-time interns in furnished bedrooms or trailers, but are also open to those who wish to camp. We prefer stays of at least three months, after a two-week intensive trial period. We will consider shorter stays on a situational basis, especially if you are flexible with accommodations (camping or sharing a room), and don’t mind a slimmer diversity of tasks. Because of our livestock we do not accept pets. Our internships are best suited for those who are interested in someday running their own farms.
