Tours & Workshops
We believe that everyone has the right to see where their food is produced, and we often work with groups to arrange tours of our farm. Because we are a working farm, we regret that we are not able to accommodate drop-ins or last minute tours, and ask that you contact us as far in advance as possible. We do not charge for short tours, but happily accept donations.
We also teach workshops! Past workshop topics have included: Seed-saving, EM & Bokashi Making, Desert Gardening, Leadership & Goal Setting (youth), Mapping the Food System (youth), Native Bee Boxes, Tree Pruning, and Cooking with Seasonal Ingredients. We are open to other workshop topics and would be happy to discuss ideas specific to your goals or curriculum.
In order to plan and facilitate a workshop, we require a minimum of ten participants. Workshops include a farm tour. Groups can also choose a family-style farm lunch made with farm-raised seasonal ingredients (extra fee), or bring their own sack lunch. Because workshops take us out of the field, we charge a sliding scale of $15-25 per person.
Tours and workshop groups are asked to come prepared with close-toed shoes/boots, appropriate clothing for spending time outside in the desert elements, and any specific allergy remedies required by participants. We do not allow dogs.
