Fall Is Coming…
We are starting to experience cooler nights and noticeably shorter days, and the return of cool-weather weeds like mustard and globe mallow. It’s exciting to be seeding greens, broccoli, and root-vegetables and still be planting cucumbers, summer squash, and tomatoes. With all this going in the ground we’re shaping up to have an abundant October and November.
We’ve seen the dry heat taking it’s toll on everything lately, except the okra. Our hens have slowed their production, as have all the fruits. The honey bees have been thriving and recently got the second-story of their houses added, and on Saturday we will add a third hive.
We are working to schedule a farm tour in October (check back for exact date). We’re also excited to host another EM workshop, scheduled for Sept 12, after a great bokashi workshop earlier this month…
